Getting started

8 questions
What does a mobile mechanic actually do?

We bring tools and diagnostic equipment to the vehicle instead of asking you to bring it to a shop. Depending on the repair, we can inspect the problem, perform approved maintenance, replace parts, and test the result at your location.

Do I need to know what is wrong before I contact you?

Not at all. Tell us what the vehicle is doing—or what it stopped doing. Strange sounds, warning lights, leaks, smells, vibrations, or a no-start are all useful descriptions. You do not need to diagnose it yourself.

What should I have ready when I call or request an appointment?

Your name, a good callback number, the vehicle’s year, make, model, location, and a brief description of the concern are enough to start. If you have them, the engine type, mileage, VIN, recent repairs, fault codes, and photos can help us plan the visit.

Can I text instead of calling?

Absolutely. Call or text (346) 559-0559. Tell us your vehicle’s year, make, model, approximate location, and symptoms in plain language. Photos can help. Texting is welcome, but no appointment is confirmed until we respond and agree on the details.

Can I speak to someone before booking?

Yes. Call or text (346) 559-0559 to discuss the problem, the likely scope, pricing, and the best next step. A service request is an inquiry—not an obligation to authorize a repair.

Do I have to be good with cars to explain the problem?

Absolutely not. Everyday language is fine: “it cranks but won’t start,” “there is a puddle under the front,” or “the brakes feel different” tells us where to begin. We will ask follow-up questions without expecting you to know technical terminology.

What part of Houston do you cover?

Our planned service area is approximately 30 miles around Kingwood, serving North Houston and nearby communities. Please provide your exact location so we can confirm coverage and any additional travel charge before dispatch.

Can I request service at my home, workplace, or parking lot?

Often, yes, when the location is safe, legal, accessible, and allows vehicle repairs. Private-property, employer, apartment, HOA, and parking-lot rules may restrict work; we will confirm the setting before dispatch.

Rates, quotes & diagnostics

9 questions
How much does it cost to have you come out?

A standard local service call is $49. For a problem that needs diagnosis, the $89 diagnostic visit already includes the local service call and up to 45 minutes of initial testing for one concern.

Do I pay both the $49 service call and the $89 diagnostic?

No. For the same visit, a diagnostic is $89 total for the initial diagnostic scope, including local travel—not $49 plus $89. Approved repair labor, additional authorized testing, parts, fluids, and applicable charges are separate.

What is your hourly labor rate?

Our advertised standard rate is $99 per labor hour for approved repair work. Before beginning, we explain the proposed work, how labor will be calculated, and any minimum or additional charges applicable to that specific job.

What happens after the first 45 minutes of diagnosis?

We explain what we found and whether more testing is needed. Any additional diagnostic time is discussed and priced for your approval before continuing. Some intermittent or electrical faults take more than one visit to isolate.

Will you tell me the full price before fixing anything?

We provide an estimate or quote for the proposed work before you authorize it, including known parts and labor. If inspection reveals a different problem or additional work, we explain the change and request approval before proceeding.

What if the vehicle cannot be fixed during the visit?

The visit or diagnostic charge may still apply because travel and troubleshooting have been performed. We explain what we could verify, what remains uncertain, and whether the next step is parts, additional testing, a second visit, or a properly equipped repair facility.

Is the diagnostic fee waived if I approve a repair?

The published $89 diagnostic is not automatically waived or credited. If a specific quote includes a credit or promotion, we will state that explicitly before work begins.

Do you charge more at night, on weekends, or farther away?

Additional travel and after-hours charges may apply, depending on location and confirmed availability. We will disclose any such charges when responding to the request and before dispatch.

Can you quote a repair without seeing the vehicle?

For a clearly identified job, we may be able to give an initial estimate using the vehicle details and requested service. If the cause or required parts are uncertain, an on-site inspection or diagnosis may be needed before providing a reliable repair quote.

Repairs, vehicles & capabilities

9 questions
What vehicles do you work on?

We review requests for cars, SUVs, pickups, vans, trailers, RV chassis, commercial vehicles, and selected diesel or motorcycle work. The exact vehicle, access, equipment, and repair determine whether it is suitable for a mobile visit.

What repairs can you do on-site?

Common requests include batteries, starting and charging systems, brakes, cooling-system repairs, belts, hoses, sensors, routine maintenance, and fault diagnosis. More involved engine, steering, suspension, and fleet jobs are evaluated individually for safe on-site completion.

Can you help if my vehicle won’t start?

Yes, a no-start is a common reason to request help. We may need to distinguish a dead battery from charging, starter, fuel, ignition, security, or other faults before recommending parts.

Does a check-engine-light scan tell you exactly what to replace?

Not necessarily. A trouble code identifies a condition detected by the vehicle; it does not always identify the failed component. A proper diagnosis may require physical checks, measurements, test drives, and verification of the underlying cause.

Can you do brakes, steering, and suspension work in a driveway?

Many such repairs may be possible on firm, level ground with safe access, proper lifting equipment, and suitable conditions. We will decline or relocate a job if we cannot support the vehicle and complete the work safely.

Do you perform alignments or other shop-only services?

No wheel alignments are currently offered. Services needing a vehicle lift, tire machine, specialized calibration rig, major component removal, or other shop-only equipment may require a referral or a separate facility.

What about RVs, trailers, motorcycles, and light-duty diesels?

Please contact us with the year, make, model, weight class, and specific concern. Not every repair on these vehicles is practical in the field. For RVs, chassis and vehicle-mechanical work is distinct from house appliances and living-area systems.

Do you provide lockout service?

Lockout assistance is subject to tools, vehicle type, and availability. We require reasonable proof that you own or are authorized to access the vehicle. We cannot assist with bypassing another person’s vehicle security.

Can you program keys, perform ADAS calibration, or service high-voltage EV components?

Do not assume those specialized services are available. Tell us the exact vehicle and task; if it requires manufacturer-specific equipment, high-voltage qualifications, or controlled shop conditions beyond our setup, we will say so rather than guess.

Appointments, roadside safety & access

8 questions
Are you really available 24/7?

You can submit a request at any hour. Actual technician response, emergency callouts, and overnight visits depend on scheduling and confirmation. The website does not guarantee an immediate 24-hour response.

Does submitting the booking form confirm an appointment?

No. A request starts the conversation. We review the vehicle, location, scope, and availability, then contact you to confirm scheduling and charges. Please do not treat an unconfirmed request as a dispatch.

How quickly can you arrive?

Travel time varies with other jobs, parts, traffic, weather, distance, and the repair needed. We will give you a realistic appointment window when we accept the request instead of promising an arrival time before checking.

What if I am stranded on a busy highway?

Your safety comes first. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or the appropriate roadway assistance service. We cannot perform repairs in an unsafe traffic lane or shoulder; move the vehicle to a safe, legal work area or arrange towing when necessary.

Can I keep driving if a warning light comes on?

It depends on the warning. If the oil-pressure warning is on, the temperature is dangerously high, the brakes are not functioning normally, or you see heavy smoke or a major fluid leak, stop somewhere safe, shut the engine off when appropriate, and request assistance. Continuing to drive can cause damage or injury.

What should the work area be like?

A level, stable surface with enough space around the vehicle is ideal. Please mention steep slopes, gravel or soft soil, parking-garage height limits, security gates, limited lighting, or property rules before we arrive.

Do I need to stay with the vehicle?

We will confirm access and whether an owner, authorized representative, or operator must be present. For diagnosis, the person who has observed the symptoms is often helpful, and a driver may be needed for certain road tests.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Contact us as soon as possible. If a dispatch has already begun, ask whether any travel or cancellation charge applies; we will communicate applicable terms during scheduling, not surprise you afterward.

Parts, payments & accountability

8 questions
Do you bring replacement parts?

We identify the likely parts before scheduling whenever possible. If diagnosis is needed first or a part is not locally available, a separate parts pickup or return visit may be necessary. We will discuss the plan and price before ordering or installing anything.

Can I provide my own parts?

Ask first. Customer-supplied parts may be accepted for some repairs, but compatibility, quality, and any different warranty or labor terms must be agreed on before scheduling.

Do you use OEM or aftermarket parts?

Both may be options, depending on the vehicle, availability, and your priorities. We will identify the proposed part and discuss suitable alternatives when they exist. We do not claim an aftermarket part is identical to OEM without evidence.

Will you explain and show me what was wrong?

Yes. We aim to describe the confirmed fault in understandable language, explain the recommended repair, and show relevant findings or old components when practical. We will distinguish test results from hypotheses.

Do you start repairs without permission?

No. We discuss the proposed repair and price first. If additional problems appear, we pause and seek approval for the change rather than silently adding charges.

What warranty comes with the work?

Parts and workmanship terms depend on the specific repair and parts source. We will identify any applicable coverage, exclusions, and claim process on the estimate or invoice before you authorize the repair. We do not advertise an unverified blanket warranty.

How can I pay, and will I receive a receipt?

We accept cash, Venmo, Zelle, and credit or debit cards processed through Square. We do not accept personal checks. We provide an itemized receipt showing the work, parts, labor, and applicable charges. Never send card details by text. Payment is requested only through agreed, legitimate channels.

Are you licensed, ASE-certified, or insured?

We are happy to discuss relevant experience, qualifications, and insurance details before a visit. Ask for the information you need, and we will confirm what currently applies rather than asking you to rely on a website badge.

Business, fleets & follow-up

4 questions
Can you service company vehicles or multiple fleet units?

Fleet maintenance and repairs can be discussed for trucks, vans, trailers, and other suitable vehicles. Tell us the number of units, models, access conditions, downtime constraints, and whether you need coordinated scheduling.

Can you work directly with a fleet manager or equipment operator?

Yes. We can coordinate the work scope, approval contact, site access, operator observations, and invoicing requirements before dispatch. A written authorization process helps prevent confusion about who approved what.

What if the same problem returns after a repair?

Contact us with the invoice, symptoms, and what changed. We will review the prior work and applicable parts or workmanship terms, then discuss the next diagnostic step. A repeated symptom does not always mean the original component failed again.

What if I have a question you did not cover here?

That is exactly what our call, text, and request options are for. No need to know the correct repair name—tell us your situation, and we will help identify the information needed to determine whether we are the right mobile service for it.

You don't have to figure it out alone.

Describe what your vehicle is doing. We'll help determine whether a mobile visit makes sense, what information we need, and what the charges would be before dispatch.
